Yeah, I know, way not to post in like two months. Been traveling and studying for exams so haven't felt like it. Had a cold this weekend so got out of the studying groove; getting back in again is hell. I know nobody probably reads this thing anymore, but I just needed to confess that instead of studying tonight, after chilling with a friend all day, I spent a truly embarrassing amount of time (no, seriously, I'm rather ashamed...but thought I might as well get it out of my system at once) looking for the following photos (and their brethren):

Oh, pretty, even(especially?)after letting the Glam Shield down...(and the freckles out)! I'm amazed at what a chameleon Adam is, how he can be all fierce like this: Click to see 'The glittery alien from Planet Fierce,' as his brother describes him )

Put it all together, and I just have to marvel at his sweet, fierce, glittery chameleon self, and rejoice in the awesome. Totally worth staying up all night for, no?

Anyway...bed now. Computer may be on during breakfast but then it is going off until I get a good amount of work done, b/c otherwise I will freak.

So I caved and bought his second book in hardback. I am pathetic. Haven't read it all the way through yet, but there is a chapter devoted entirely to his and Scott's dogs. Major love. Also, I am rather jealous of his nieces and nephews; why can't I have a pair of fabulous gay uncles? (Actually, I have no biological uncles whatsoever). Of course, I do have a potential gay husband, though. Seriously, we have an agreement, if neither of us can find a satisfactory significant other in the next 10 years. But yeah, JB rocks...I continue to have apparently no life, and am a bit drunk right now. But seriously, what else is there to do in the middle of a snowstorm in rural SW Ohio, I ask you?

Oh, I also downloaded an episode of Torchwood, even though I hate aliens and such. Am thinking about downloading Captain Jack's first appearances on Doctor Who as well, but those episodes are sincerely freaky, from what I remember when a friend forced me to watch them.

As of right now I am restraining myself from ordering JB's concert DVD from the UK, which I am rather proud of, but we'll see how long that lasts. Sigh.

I need to stop being a slug. That would be good.

Bye, all.

Love this song. Blasted it on my way home today, and am doing so again right now. JB sings his heart out with this one.

I am what I am
I am my own special creation
So come take a look
Give me the hook or the ovation

It's my world
That I want to have a little pride in
My world
And it's not a place I have to hide in

Life's not worth a damn
Till you can say
Hey world
I am what I am

I am what I am
I don't want praise, I don't want pity
I bang my own drum
Some think it's noise, I think it's pretty

And so what
If I love each feather and each spangle
Why not try to see things from a different angle?

Your life is a sham
Till you can shout
Out loud
I am what I am

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the ace, sometimes the deuces

There's one life
And there's no return and no deposit
One life
So it's time to open up your closet

Life's not worth a damn
Till you can say
Hey world
I am what I am

Pretty great message. Someone or something needs to adopt it as a theme song. It's high on my list of candidates, anyway...fairly equal opportunity.

Yeah. Pretty much it for right now.

So apparently, if his first book is to be believed, John Barrowman turned down the chance to be an enamored Valentino's 24 year-old boytoy back in the day. Huh. Was not expecting that one. However, turns out that John's first Cocker Spaniel, Penny, who was at his and Scott's civil union, was actually a gift from Valentino, the last of a multitude apparently, and probably the only one he DIDN'T try to return, as he describes her as "something more precious than the most valuable gems in the world." Random. Squee about Penny, though.

Yes, I know I'm going on and on about John Barrowman, but it's my damn journal. Got to get my squeeage out somewhere. And you guys can't actually smack me. ;oP

Note icon: Miss Moneypenny is the pup in the middle. Hee. Also, John and kilt=yay!

... for making me be so obsessive. I need to sleep, particularly as I have to be up in 4 hours and probably got less than 4 hours last night, with no nap. He's just so outrageous on talk the most delightful way...and decidedly less wholesome than Mary Poppins. Anyway, added a couple of interview clips and descriptions to my previous post. The initial minute or three of each NEED to be seen.

Dammit. Dammit, Mr. Barrowman. Must SLEEP now.

Been having a John Barrowman renaissance today instead of being productive.

Here he is singing "I am what I am from" La Cage aux Folles:

EDIT: Singing " I won't send roses." Beautiful and kinda powerful and somehow sexy:

He did a documentary for the BBC about investigating the biological causes of homosexuality, using himself as a test subject.
Here's part 1:

It's amazing how in a later part he switches between his American and Scottish accents (he uses the latter with his family, who emigrated when he was 8). The first bit with his partner of 16 years, architect Scott Gill, is adorable. Here it is on its own:

Here's a cute interview with the two of them: "Scott. Scott, c'mere. Scotty. C'mere. C'mere." Awww. Scott is so shy and bashful:

And just when you thought it couldn't get any cuter, it does, because PUPPIES! Here they are introducing new puppy Harris to their two other "boys," Charlie and yes, Captain Jack. Seriously. There is also footage elsewhere of him singing happy birthday to his dog, and talking to him on the phone while the dog is at the vet.

And here are some obligatory John/Scott music vids/slide shows, to John's recordings, no less:

The first one is particularly nice. They brought the dogs to their civil union! John's wearing a kilt! The second has some cute ComiCon pics, though.

EDIT AGAIN: The beginning of this interview with Dawn French is hysterical, as it deals entirely with her fascination with his bottom and what "keeps it so peachy;" that segment of the conversation ends with her getting pregnant by osmosis... ;oP

And the beginning of this segment with Charlotte Church deals with his on-again off-again Scottish accent, and how it really freaks his partner out...except at night, in the dark, apparently. Yup. Yup yup yup. Just the first minute of this one. Really does need to be seen, though. /EDIT

I have to say, Scott really is a cutie. Lucky John. And of course John's no slouch, particularly when in glasses. ;oP And I think they're trying to have a kid. Yay.

So, just yay all round. I have to go try and be useful now, though.
